Position Brief:

 

This position is responsible for directing and coordinating QHSE activities for all locations.  The QHSE Manager will work closely with all levels of the team to coordinate the QHSE requirements throughout the organization.  This is a diverse position spanning across the distribution, services, and manufacturing sectors of the organization to create a maintain a safe workplace and preserve our outstanding reputation through high quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Take direction and fulfil responsibilities from the President.
  • Perform reporting, risk assessments, auditing, and observations of all QHSE related activities and policies within Kings Energy Services.
  • Ensure all operations are conducted in a safe and effective manner in conformance to federal, provincial and company safety regulations by integrating and implementing company and third-party QHSE policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and control the company's QA manual and oversee all changes and revisions to the requirements of API specification Q1.
  • Monitor and report on quality metrics to meet QHSE objectives.
  • Coordinate and participate in all Internal and External Audits in accordance with API Specifications Q1, ABSA, COR.
  • Perform critical supplier evaluations and audits.
  • Perform post-incident investigations, participates in job risk analysis and continual improvement.
  • Maintain and control the company's Safety manual ensuring all updates, changes and revisions continue to meet requirements of ACSA, and OH&S regulations.
  • Provide guidance and training to all team members on the EHSMS program and its elements.
  • Submit data to online contractor management databases (ISNetworld, ComplyWorks and Avetta)
  • Conduct monthly companywide team meetings.
  • Providing after hour guidance, and response to inquires and concerns. 
  • Other projects and duties as required.

 

Success in this role will come from having:

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline, or a combination of education and management experience.
  • An ACSA Peer Auditor certification.
  • An ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor qualification.
  • Knowledge in compliance to provincial and federal legislation, labor standards, QMS policies and procedures, HSE legislation.
  • Familiarity with online contactor management databases (ISNetworld, ComplyWorks and Avetta).
  • A minimum 5 years’ experience in a related Quality or HSE Managerial role.
  • Any Train-the-Trainer courses (First Aid, TDG, WHMIS, Overhead Crane, Forklift, etc.).
  • A valid driver’s license and clean abstract.

  • Office and shop setting, business-casual dress code.
  • High-paced with frequent interruptions, tight deadlines.
  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
  • Long periods of desk work (sitting, computer work, etc.).
  • Intermittent travel to other branch locations.
