Machinist - Nisku
Kings Energy Services is currently looking to engage an experienced Machinist to work at our Nisku location.
Start date: Immediately
Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM

Role Responsibilities:
-
Take direction and fulfill responsibilities from the Manufacturing Foreman
-
Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier callipers.

Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines or grinders.

Measure, examine and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.

Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools.

Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines.

Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.

Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations.

Select the appropriate tools, machines and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.

Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine the need for adjustments or repairs.

Clean and lubricate machines, tools and equipment.

Program computers and electronic instruments such as numerically controlled machine tools.

Initiate Non-Conformance reports where products or services do not meet requirements

Demonstrate and emphasize safety conscious attitude
Role Requirements:
-
Must be able to lift 70lbs.

Demonstrated ability to effectively work within a complex, fast-moving work environment under minimal supervision.

Participation in Safety Program and Quality Assurance Program

Strong computer skills; MS office suite proficient with an ability to learn new programs

Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
-
Ability to work as a positive contributing member within a team environment..

Functional understanding of imperial and metric systems.

Familiar with reading blueprints, schematics and manuals
-
Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)

Understanding of properties of metal and other materials

Minimum 3rd or 4th-year Apprentice as a machinist required
-
Previous Mazak CNC Lathe and Mill experience is an asset
-
A valid driver's license and the ability to provide a clean driving record
